As artists, we’re never meant to share which pieces are our favorites, but I can’t help but share how important this piece has been to me. It represented a breakthrough in my painting, and it meant so much for so long that I resisted selling it. I loved the glow of this horse’s flaxen mane juxtaposed with these blue and purple shadows that the sun casts on bright days, and it felt like this painting just came together effortlessly and showed me what I wanted to channel in my work going forward.
Finally, I decided that like all of my favorite paintings, I would have more joy seeing it in a collectors home. I made myself a larger copy for my personal collection, and now the original is available for you.
